I've come to realize that every day is a chance to push forward. It has taken me a very long time to understand that calories don't magically disappear over the weekend, and every step I take engaging my core counts, even when I'm not counting.
Weekends in our home are lazy, over-indulging and time mysteriously warps. My husband (I love this man more than anything), loves to "spoil" me with goodies and excuses;
- Champagne
- Brunch
- All Day Movies (or binging Netflix)
- Snacks
- Takeout
- Laying around doing nothing
Sounds amazing, and don't get me wrong - I love our sacred time together at home, but it's all too much.
This is the story of our entire 22 years together. When we first met, he thought I was too skinny. He would come over to my house with beer & pizza. Or wine and chocolate ice cream... He showered me with food.
I wasn't used to eating that way, and over time (against my better judgement, because I was accustomed to eating only when I was hungry), I caved and enjoyed the spoils with him.
He has always been in great shape. Even when eating all of the foods that I do, and not exercising - he just seems to get his exercise while at work, and has a fast metabolism.
Me, on the other hand, am sedetary while working from home, and have the lowest form of energy.
The differences have never bothered him, and neither does my weight it seems.
((Sigh))
So, while I sort this out, I'm making a decision to keep myself from having "rest days". And our time together as a couple needs to include better options. Just being aware of this issue is a big step.
Every single day needs to be focused on my health.
Just some thoughts... I am putting together my eating plan for the rest of the month & I'll be taking new measurements this afternoon.
Have a beautiful day - XOXO
