Attempt 552...

I feel like I am fighting a war against my body. My mind knows that losing weight is the healthiest choice I can make... but my body, argues every step of the way...
this is in no way an excuse to not try, in fact despite my challenges I never seem to give up. I have even won many battles over the years.

As I approach 50, I realize I have been waging war against weight since I was 22 years of age. 6 years ago, I changed from battling the bulge to simply fighting for health. That is the difference between the vanity of youth versus the longevity of life.

SO, why am I still fighting this same war? Why haven't I claimed my victory yet?

The answers are complex and irrelevant. What matters now, is that I continue to fight the fight, continue moving forward, continue to make progress for the betterment of my health, my mind and my life. To once again raise my flag and push forward. Winning battles along the way, holding my ground in times of strife, while choosing to remain positive and never give up.

here I am ready for another battle...

I have fought this battle over and over myself. You are not alone. I wish you great success even at 40 -50 you will have so many good years ahead. I started in my 40s, I was successful then put it all back on and more. I did not even try although I got Type 2 diabetes, had a heart attact. Now I will be 70 in February. Since spring 2017 I have lost 55 pounds but have reached a standstill and I am still battling.

Why did it take so long, I do not know. The draw of food is still there. I have to fight the need for food when things go wrong nothing solves it like candy. I just have to say no.

    YOU CAN DO IT.

It can be hard as I personally know. Maybe it's the fact that you see this as a battle?

One thing that helped me was really looking at one thing.....as I vowed to get healthier t age 61 I knew this had to be a life long commitment and started by changing ONE thing. As that became a habit I added others. I also dropped the all or nothing attitude which helped.
