"Not All Thoughts Are Facts"

I'm back on Sparkpeople after a break that I spent dealing with severe Binge Eating Disorder. I am now in recovery and losing weight and following a program being supervised by doctors. I'm on medication, in psychotherapy, and seeing a dietician. My calorie range is 800-1500 a day and I drink mostly water and 100% juice for beverages and a little almond milk. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, chicken and fish, whole grains, and a little bit of dairy like yogurt and cottage cheese but I am thinking about cutting out cheese because it makes me feel bloated. Still not 100% on that but paying attention to how food affects me and playing it by ear right now. My doctor wants me to lose at least 100 pounds and my goal is to get in the 135-145 range, back where I was before I had problems with disordered eating. He also wants me doing 20 minutes of exercise a day so I'm trying to get in more walking (3-5K a day right now) and going to physical therapy so doing my PT exercises every day also going to start doing viniyoga which is yoga specifically designed for people with bad backs/shoulders/necks. I've done it in the past and it's very beneficial. I eat on a schedule, every four hours and have to take my medication half an hour before I eat and that works very well. I eat five times a day, three meals and two snacks. I track all of my foods and keep an intuitive eating journal as well. Starting to feel a little less pain so able to do more than I was. I started at 275 and I'm down ten pounds right now. Just wanted to do a quick little update but I'll try to blog more now with how things are going.

    I too am returning to spark people after a 10 year hiatus in which my world got turned upside down and torn apart. I also battle a binge eating disorder with the help of a therapist. Keep up the great work and I'm so glad you're here 😊.

    First of all, glad you're back! Wishing you luck as you continue your journey. Sounds like your plan is working right now for you. Happy you're released 10 lbs. . . .. that's a great start!
