Good Morning lovely Sparkers!

Wanted to share this delicious golden staple with all of you today.

Its a whole foods source of B vitamins as well Beta Glucan,

Beta glucan has been shown to have favorable effects on the immune system... you may have been eating it all along, bc its also in oatmeal.

Kal brand Nooch is grown on beets, so its gluten free.
After the yeast has been harvested, its heat killed and fortified with B vitamins.
The Nooch itself does contain Bs, but Kal standardizes the dose by adding more.

But I eat it, bc it tastes so good... my sister turned me onto it when I first came down with thyroid disease in 2007... she was putting it on popcorn for its umami taste.

Tastewise, its rather nutty and savory, reminds me of a not so salty miso paste.
Its great on any sort of savory dish from salads and steamed veggies, to beans and lentils....use it wherever you would use a flavor boost or....cheese!

You only need one scoop a day to get all your B vitamins.

WORD OF CAUTION: Do NOT order "brewer's yeast", the taste is so awful my dogs wouldn't even touch it when I ordered it by mistake and tried to pawn it off on them. If you're looking for an alternative brand to Kal... words to the wise...if "Nutritional Yeast" isn't written on the package... DON'T BUY IT!

    I’m getting used to the taste. I made the mistake of buying Brewers Yeast and for the life of me was trying to figure out why vegans were raving about it....then I reread the label! Your comment about the dogs not even touching it made me chuckle out loud!

    I’ve made a cheese like sauce for GF pasta, but wasn’t crazy about it on my popcorn (not sure if I used too much or because I wasn’t using any oil....it mostly ended up in the bottom of the bowl). May need to try it again.
