Low Fat, Low Calorie, Gluten Free 'Tostadas'

Wednesday, June 06, 2018

Greeting my lovely Sparkers!

Check out these Horneadas... Tostadas' low fat hermana!

I've been enjoying these almost daily as a side to beans and lentils ever since I saw them at Walmart a year or so ago. They're made by Mission, but there's others out there selling them, just check the bread aisle where the Tortillas are sold.

Granted they don't have the same yummy full fat taste as deep fried Tostadas, but you get a huge savings in calories...

3 Horneadas for 150 calories and only 1,5 grams of fat
2 Tostadas for 160 calories and 7 grams fat.

If you are pairing them with something tasty in its own right, this low fat option is an easy taste sacrifice to make... all of the crunch with a fraction of the fat.

Enjoy and if you do pick some up, come back and give your review!

Be well
: )

Love the lettuce wrap suggestion from Morty and Anna, and Kristizemas8 concoction!
Anna the horneadas are mainly corn with a few other things tossed in. You can ask for "baked tostadas" or by their real name, Horneadas, when you go to the grocer's.

What are they made from? I can get some Mission brand tortillas here,
but have never heard of them. Must look for them. Like Morticia, I like lettuce too.

I think I tried them in the past as I know I tried some gluten free corn tortillas.I know I have used Mission ones. I have switched to lettuce wraps. I didn't think I would like them but I do.
