It has been a week and a half since (ex)Bestie moved out. I am still decompressing from all the stress she caused. She still needs to get her broken down car which she said when she was leaving she would get this past Friday. Upon texting her she claimed she will get it this Friday as she "has to work the weekend". I call BS cus she doesn't work Fridays. Whatever. Lie. Don't care. I told her she has one week to get it and then I am calling to have it towed to impound. She can get it from there filled with the five huge black bags of trash she left behind. Bye. hehe
Fitness
Week 8 was a bit of a wash where work outs were concerned. It was so hot and humid it made everyone sick. We only have window AC units in select windows. I did my usual first work out in the morning, but when it came to evening work outs it was AWFUL. In order to keep on track G and I decided to put an AC unit in the workout room and only turn it on slightly before work outs to cool the room, keep it going during our work outs and then just switch it off after. That plan will be executed once things get back to normal after G's family visits for the summer.
Oh, we have a plan for our workouts for when his family is here. We will be working out in the attic apartment before dinner. (We have huge exhaust fans up there and it generally stays comfortable up there) If it's too hot we will be going swimming or for evening hikes. Either way we are staying on track!
Eating
It took us a moment after (ex)Bestie left to get on track, but we are back! We found a great deal on boneless pork chops so G smoked them on Monday for the week. He heated them up on the grill and I would serve them with multi grain rice and steamed veggies. I also cut them up and put them in a stirfry. Sooo good!
I am back cooking for two and G is not demanding at all. It is really nice and should really help our budget out! I will know truly what our grocery bill will look like after his family visits.
Operation Hydration
Week 8 was a bit wonky. I started drinking sweet tea. *sighs* It was so hot that is all I wanted. I know better!!!!!! The stuff is a calorie bomb and it hurts my tummy. I am back to water now. Lesson learned!
Stress Level
Aside from (ex)Bestie coming to get her car and I can totally close that chapter of my life right now as I am concentrating on getting the house ready for G's family that visits. It varies each year on how long their stay is, but it's at least a month. We are also throwing a huge July 4th celebration where out of town friends will also be staying a few days with their kids. The whole game night crew, neighbors, and other friends will be there too! Honestly, I do not know how we do it every year. 4 Bedroom, 1 bath house for 10 plus people depending on who is staying. We have lots of cots, inflatable beds, and actual beds. It's just turning our normal living space into a kid friendly communal space takes about a week.
I held off my major spring cleaning until (ex)Bestie was out as there was no point in deep cleaning twice as I knew she would trash everything with her move. She did. So good call on my part.
I do have a lot checked off my list. What was her room I cleaned Saturday from top to bottom. It was gross! So much mess, trash, dust, cob webs....she never cleaned. *sighs* It looks really nice now!
Things I feel I can do better
Due to stress and just generally being off my plan the scale is up. However, my resting heart rate since (ex)Bestie is gone is down 10 points again and still falling. YAY! What I need to do better is just manage stress, keep focused on workouts and curtail emotional eating / drinking (sweet tea).
I am excited for what is to come this summer! So, letting go and just being in the moment is what I am going to work on!
I hope everyone is well!
