Anti-inflammatory Turmeric Tea
Tuesday, June 05, 2018
This is a tasty anti-inflammatory hot drink that you can enjoy anytime.
But its especially beneficial if you have a tooth ache, herpes simplex 1 outbreak (cold sores), or canker sores... it can knock the pain back to acceptable levels by reducing inflammation and speeding recovery.
It will also cause your saliva to become alkaline, an environment in which mouth germs and herpes do not thrive. Yes, I tested my saliva with a ph strip, both before (acidic) and after (highly alkaline).,
Here's my recipe:
3 cups Silk Organic Unsweetened Soy Milk
1 tablespoon Turmeric
.25 teaspoon of ground pepper (you need this to make the turmeric bioavailable)
.25 teaspoon of cinnamon
.5 - 1 teaspoon of vanilla (optional, but it sure tastes good!)
A 1.5 to 2 inch piece of fresh ginger root, chopped ( a potent anti-inflammatory in its own right)
1 tablespoon Chia Seed ( for anti-inflammatory Omega3s and thickening)
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender (I used a low end Vitamix).
Blend for 40 seconds.
Heat in pan on stovetop or pour into cup and microwave until warm.
DO NOT boil or overheat!
It should be nice and frothy, with a very creamy texture, thanks in part to the Chia seed.
It can also be enjoyed cold.
