What is my motivation ?

I don't know.

I read another blog that asked me that question and I had no answer.
No wonder I am not making any headway.

My blood pressure is borderline. I think losing 10-20 pounds would reverse that. My body looks like a chubby little girl. I would like a flatter tummy and slimmer legs. But none of that outweighs enjoying the flavors of a really good food.

I have lost my motivation and don't remember where I left it.

    Oh my gosh, I HEAR YOU! At this moment the payoff for you with the food seems bigger than the payoff you would get if you take better care of your health. I totally get it.

    I guess my advice to you would be, just take the next right step. Even something as little as deciding to exercise just 10 minutes each day. For me, those little right steps have led to bigger and bigger ones and I am happier with myself and my choices than I've been in a long time.

    Action comes before motivation. Maybe try setting a single (teeny tiny) goal that you know you can do and then "just do it" everyday. I know, that's easier said than done, but tiny steps are doable. Continue with that one and add a new one each week. Before you know it, your motivation will have returned. It isn't easy to take that first step, but I bet there are already things that you are doing that are healthy. Maybe make it a goal to track what you are already doing and see if that entices your motivation to want to do more.

    Do not wait until you have a really big excuse like type 2 diabetes.....then you have no choice but to control that glucose number. That is my motivation more than anything....I believe that my obesity led to my diabetes and to my cancer. More and more studies are pointing at that. LET THAT BE YOUR MOTIVATION.

    You are NOT alone. Stress can put a lot on us. Keep standing even if it is on just one toe. Eventually you will put you foot down. You got this don't give in.

    Phyllis, I thik we all go thru this to be sure.

    The thing I always have to keep etched on my brain is there is no food that tastes as good as being healthy feels.

    Is there a "sabateur" in your life? Wow, DH used to be one big time. BUT I finally sat myself down and gave myself a good talking to. You know, just because something's offered doesn't mean you have to take it, and I also reminded myself this is MY journey and he doesn't have to eat as I do. Anyhow, hope you find you mojo!
