I did it!

I typically don’t blog. In fact it’s been three years since my blog entry. I think today I might start that part of my journey again.
For the past year and a half I’ve been dealing with some bizarre health issues, some of which can be chalked up to something I have called POTS ( Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). Anyway, for most of last year I was in bed, and as a result of that and all of the garbage I put in my mouth I regained 30 pounds. Since mid March I have been well enough most days to at least walk. I have a goal of getting in 2000 steps a day. That may not seem like much, but there are days when I don’t even get that. On my good days, and they are starting to out number the bad days, I can get many more than that in. Like today, for instance. I woke up early and went to the gym. I have been trying to restart my goal of running a 5k. I can now jog for short periods of time on the treadmill, but haven’t tried it outside yet. Well, I decided to do it today. When I got home from the gym I still had quite a bit of motivation and energy, so I went over to the school right by my house and went to the track. I actually ran an entire lap without stopping! Woohoo!! Yay me! I feel pumped and ready for a great day.
