I made a change to my way of eating in early October 2017. I was skeptical but I had read an article in a magazine about a woman who had lost 100+ pounds by using protein shakes. I had some protein powder on hand and thought I would give It a go. I really liked the taste of the powder and it really filled me up. The article included a menu plan and I have been following it about 95% of the time. We travel a lot on the weekends and I take as many snacks as I can along with us. The menu plan is a protein smoothie for breakfast, 100 calorie snack, protein shake for lunch, 100 calorie snack and a sensible dinner. I eat around 1,200 calories a day. When I started out on this WOE, I didn't think I would stay on this plan for long. Lose a bit and then transition to healthy meals again. But the ease of the smoothies/shakes and snacks and the meals are addictive! I don't have to spend a lot of time planning for 3 meals a day and I love that.

About a month ago, I started reading about the Keto diet. I have incorporated those meals into our diet and rarely get over 20 carbs a day. I think this is helping us lose the weight. Even my 7 year old is in LOVE with "taco" salad. It's a lettuce salad with hamburger, cheese, ranch and a few tortilla chips broken up on top. He thinks it's "DELICIOUS"!

Just thought I would share this in case someone was interested in how I am losing.

I am down 46 pounds in 5 months and the first of March started doing Walk Away the Pounds 5 days a week.

It's working for me!!

    I am envious of people who can do the protein shake as a meal. It's like I never ate! But it would be a great way to add nutrition, maybe for my kiddos too...and the loud blender could help wake up my son in the morning! emoticon

    Just stopped by to say hello and read your blog... Congrats on the loss! I read a lot about keto about a year and a half ago, but didn't get into it seriously. Lately I've been frustrated with my lack of losing and decided to read more... I started it "offically" last tuesday, may 1st. I wish I could get my family all on board, but they are all adults and set in their ways. :) Hubby is considering it, at least. I'm doing it not just for weight loss, but for the plethora of health benefits I've read about!
