Happy 11th Sparkiversary + a Hiatus
Saturday, March 10, 2018
I celebrated my 11th Sparkiversary on last Sunday the 4th. Interestingly enough the 4th was a Sunday again just like when I joined 11 years ago.
SparkPeople and the wonderful SP community saw me through the ups and the downs of my weight loss journey. I joined in 2007 and by the summer of 2008 I was 1 pound away from goal weight. I did not make my goal and found my self steadily gaining weight back. Since then it’s been up and down and a couple pregnancies in between (one non-viable and the other resulting in a beautiful baby girl, now energetic toddler).
SparkPeople has helped me to keep at it even when things were not going my way. It is an awesome thing to have an entire social media community dedicated to positivity, health, and fitness. I intend on being here even after I reach my goal because as the old saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child.” In principle that is how it works here. We take baby steps on the new lifestyle journey, learning to form new habits and much like a child we stumble and fall and need to be helped and encouraged along until we can run on our own. When I “arrive” I need to continue to stick around to help the newbies in the village. ;)
That being said, 11 years of team managements and challenges does take its toll on anyone. So I will be taking a quarter off to work on my business and home life. I have to continue on social media because of the business so I have to limit where I spend my time until I get everything up and running.
I will be back, because I cannot imagine this journey without SparkPeople. While I am taking a break from SP, I am NOT taking a break from the journey.
Hold the fort. Help the village. Keep at the journey.
Love you all and thanks for stopping by.
See you in three.
