Dealing With Rude Customers

Sunday, February 18, 2018

Remember how I was worried that I wouldn't get paid for the government shutdown that took place last month? Well, we all got paid. :) YAY!!!

I have been having trouble with this rude DHS (Department of Homeland Security) worker these past 2 weeks. It's a long story, but basically, she was really friendly to me up until 2 weeks ago, and for some reason, has become ruder and ruder to me. :( I kind of want to be rude back to her, but I'm honestly not a malicious person at all, so I won't. Anyway, I'm trying to not let her get to me (especially during this 3 day weekend), but it's hard, because I have always been a sensitive person. Oh well.

I am enjoying the long weekend! :)

Also, starting on March 4th, I will be on CWS (Compressed Work Schedule), where I will be working 9 hour days, and get every other Friday off. I'm really excited, as I have so many health issues, and I've basically been using my sick leave as soon as I have been accruing it, but now I can just schedule my appointments on my days off. :D YAY!!! Also, it will be SO nice to have a 3 day weekend every other week. :D

There is one issue though. All this time, I have been showering and washing my hair in the morning, but now I'll have to wake up even earlier to do so (I'll be starting work at 7 am instead of 8 am now). It has already been hard enough waking up at 5 am, but now I'll have to start waking up at 4 am. I have been showering and washing my hair in the morning all this time because 2 people have told me in the past that if I don't wash my hair in the morning, it smells! But others have assured me that it doesn't at all! So, I don't know what to do. It would be so nice to just roll out of bed, and go to work without having to shower and wash my hair when it's SO COLD, and I'm SO TIRED. Also, my hair gets oily if I brush it when it's dry, so all this time, I have been brushing it when it's wet, and then blowdrying it. All of this is time consuming. If I shower and wash my hair after work, that means that I'll have to brush it the next morning before work, and I'm worried that my hair will be unacceptably oily at work. What do you think??

I get paid again this Saturday, and I'm excited, because I heard that I might get more take home pay due to Trump's tax bill. I hope that's true!

My sister is scheduled to give birth this Tuesday! It's exciting! I don't plan on having children, so I am content to be an aunt. :)

I'm guessing by now you're a brand-new aunt. That must be exciting!

Sorry about the rude co-worker. Hope you can get her off your back, as this adds additional and unnecessary work stress. Good for you taking the high road though. Being rude back would probably just make the situation worse and fuel the fire. Do you have to work with her directly? She must be one unhappy person.

I am not a morning person and rolling out of bed is pretty much all I can handle in the morning. So I always shower and wash my hair at night. I can't imagine why your hair would smell? Maybe try a comb instead of a brush, or just finger brush like somebody here already suggested.

    Best wishes.

You have a lot going on. Your new work schedule sounds like a good deal. And a raise--cool!

Try not to let that worker get to you--those kinds of people just want to stir up trouble--they love the buzz they cause. So long as she is not taking personal shots ignore her. If she gets personal--tell her right then you it is not true and demand an apology. She may or may not apologize but I bet the behavior will end. Bully's rarely continue when people stand up to them.

Washing your hair the night before will not make it smell. But if you think it does, try this trick. Spray your brush with some perfume then brush it through your hair.

    A baby--how exciting!

Having a three day weekend, every other week, is awesome. I am happy for you. I cannot say to just ignore your co worker that is rude to you. Because I was also sensitive and hurt when I was employed. It is always difficult. As for washing your hair, I would suggest you check for shampoo that doesn't contain alcohol or similar ingredients. Aveda is a little more expensive but keeps your hair cleaner for a little longer. If you are not able to find this product, I suggest you talk to a hair stylist or go to a local beauty product store. This may save you time during the week.

I am so happy for you that you are going to be an aunt. I hope that all goes well with the delivery.

Congrats on the increase in your pay. That's what we all love!! emoticon

I have the same thoughts as CARB -- I would think it should be fine to shower and shampoo @ night and then you'll be ready for the next day.

I bet if you just run your fingers through your hair in the am, it will be fine. I read a lot of places where they are now discouraging folks from brushing their hair regularly, which seems weird to me, but I guess it looks more natural if you just "finger comb" instead. I would think brushing or combing your hair would distribute the oil more evenly, so it looked less oily afterwards, not more. Can't imagine it would make a huge difference in appearance (or odor) if you showered & shampooed at night vs in am.
