Setting my Intention on the Comeback Trail

Sunday, January 21, 2018

So let's talk about that, intention.

I think in the personal training circles the buzz phrase is "set your intention' at the beginning of the day. I believe that is a mindfulness training thing. For me, intention is a Roman Catholic thing I was brought up to believe in, like prayer intentions, prayers for someone or something. emoticon

I have good intentions, but that is a starting point. It should always be that, a starting point, the action follows. No action, then there was no intention. emoticon

Ha. That sounds like a legal argument! emoticon

Anyhow....for me personally, I like to work it the other way around, the more you do something good, the more motivated you are in doing that good thing, the intention. emoticon

But that's what they say: You get motivated by doing the action you're not motivated to do, Repeatedly.

What do you intend to do this year? emoticon

Great points...I do very much believe in intention. Without having that in mind we are pretty rudderless...thank you for the reminder, my friend! emoticon

OH gosh that's too heavy for me. I discovered a long time ago NOT to pre-plan a workout, like do not make a week's list of what I intend to do, I will not get it done or I will be disappointed in not doing it and beat myself up mentally.. I just decide right then and there or maybe the day before what workout I need to do. Otherwise, it's a chore.
