One Month Wedding Anniversary! Our Tiny Tennessee Matrimony
Thursday, November 23, 2017
Hello Sparkpeople,
It feels like so much longer than a month since Thorsten and I returned to Germany from our Gatlinburg Tennessee wedding and Disney World 'FamilyMoon.' As I knew it would be, time became a very precious and sparse once we returned to Europe, but I would love to share with you all a short recollection and a few pictures from this very special time in our lives.
One final photo and a story to share:
A small anecdote about our wedding holiday. The weather in Tennessee was amazing hot and sunny for the duration of our stay---except on October 23, 2017. An hour before our ceremony it stormed like mad...buckets of rain and gushes of cold wind. It was frustrating to say the least. I held to all those sayings about rain on a wedding day symbolizing cleanliness, happy tears and fertility...
Our wedding was scheduled indoors so we just had to go on as planned. Then as Thorsten and I began reciting our vows the storm stopped completely, and huge rays of bright sunlight illuminated through the windows. It was divine.
As the weather continued to clear, a thick gorgeous mist validated the autumn foliage of the Smoky Mountains and was more breathtaking than any sunny day could be.
Right before our reception began a wonderful rainbow appeared.
During our Disney “Familymoon” in Florida, seeing those cute bride and groom mouse ears, so many friendly strangers offered their congratulations. Older couples married for 20, 30 and 50 years celebrating their own families and anniversaries offered their love and advice.
We were and are blessed beyond measure, thank you for sharing this special time with us!
