Treated My Family And Friends To Dinner

Sunday, November 19, 2017

Yesterday, I got my first paycheck!!! :D So, I treated my dad, mom, sister, brother-in-law, best friend, 2 aunts, and 1 uncle to dinner at a local Chinese/Korean fusion restaurant. It was my first time there, and I had read really good reviews for it, so I was excited. However, there were flies everywhere, and the waitress was rude. :( The 2 noodle dishes I tried were good, but the sweet and sour beef was bad, and we had to wait too long for our white rice and kimchi. Also, the parking lot was tiny, and they never refilled our waters. My aunt and uncle gave me a vase of roses from their garden, which was really nice of them. :) Anyway, I never want to go to that restaurant ever again! But the message is that I was finally able to treat my loved ones to a meal with my first paycheck, and that was so nice. :)

Work has been super stressful, but it can only get easier, since I'm still new, and training.

I can't believe Thanksgiving and Black Friday are this week!!! :D I can't go shopping on Thanksgiving, since I'll have to wake up early on Black Friday to go to work, but I can go shopping on the actual Black Friday after work. I'm not sure how much I want to spend on Christmas gifts this year. I mean, I'm working now, so it makes sense to spend more than I usually do, but I don't make a lot of money, so I don't know. I'm thinking of giving my parents $500 for Christmas, because I have always wanted to adopt a family for Christmas, so I figured I might as well adopt my own family this time. :)

My mom's birthday is on December 7th, so I'm thinking of giving her $100, or a $100 Target gift card. She requested a Target gift card, and I'm worried that if I give her cash, she might just use it for bills. But if I give her a gift card, she can get what she wants. I'll continue to think about it.

That was so sweet to take your family out. Gifts from the heart are the best. They don't need to cost a lot of money. I think going with a gift card would be smart.

Have you ever checked out a Dave Ramsey book? He has a lot of good money advice.

    Your first paycheck! How exciting!
And how nice of you to treat everybody (though I find I kind of sad that they seem to expect that).
Please make it a point to also treat yourself. You're working hard and you deserve it!
    Best wishes.

You are such a kind and generous person to treat family and friends with your first paycheque (even if the meal was less than what you hoped for). I hope that many blessings come your way along your journey.

I'm sure your family and friends appreciated the gesture, even if the dining experience wasn't all you'd hoped for. Now you know, so you won't ever be bothered again, wondering if that place is good or not.
I love the idea of adopting your own family for the holidays. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Making time for people is the best gift. Congratulations on being able to take your friends and family out. I am sorry the food was not as good as you hoped it would be.
