Beaver Bonanza Photos and Fall Color

Sunday, October 22, 2017

The beaver are really hungry and aggressively knocking down trees and storing food for the fast approaching winter.
Mega chewing along the trails:

They never came back for this tree they started:

Lots of half chewed trees:

Three beaver and a muskrat:

Big chew area:

Across the river from Daisy's beach:

I have got to admit, I experienced supreme frustration searching for and finding photos I wanted. After all, I pretty much go to the same places with the same subjects. Beaver, Daisy, hike, repeat lol. It took me two hours to find these and they were not all I wanted. If anyone knows a way to make it simpler, would love to hear about it!! Searching for an individual photo file name does not work unfortunately.
I went to the bridge party briefly, only to find out the 99 year old woman did not get her Life Master ranking, her friend screwed up on what she had for points :-(( I chatted with the woman, took her photo and that of the other new Life Masters then left. I was not tempted by the sweets or food laid out (which was free).
I won the Freecell online Master's tourney last weekend and will try to defend my title shortly. Very difficult as there are a few really good players who are fast. I am a fast solver, but a slow mouser, so I have to hope they get stuck on a game I solved. A lot of times, I lose my chance by getting stuck on a game myself. I play super fast in bridge as well. It does not take me long to decide how I will play or bid a hand. I sometimes wonder what people are thinking about when it takes them so long to play lol.
Its so nice to be able to leave open my bedroom door and hang clothes in the previously empty open closet in my hallway. I used to cram everything in my bedroom so they wouldn't smell like smoke. I will have to clean some cupboards as I can smell the smoke when I open the doors. The one in particular is very strong and I suspect the smoke came in through it somehow.
I am missing the trail walks with Mom & Daisy. She is busy cleaning up her huge garden though and wearing herself out. After the big wind storm, there were pine needles big and small in every corner of the yard. You can't leave them in the garden or the acidity would kill the plants.
Trying ti step up my fitness and choosing better in my food. Need to get the belly blubber off. Hate being 'skinny fat'
Have a super Sunday, thanks for stopping by!

When I first commented I was on my cell phone and couldn't watch the video. I just watched it and that was cool to see the beaver in action. You know what would have made it better, if you were to talk in the video-narrate it. Of course, maybe you didn't want to scare him by talking, but one day, please post one with your taking a hike or something and talking like I do in mine. I would love to hear your voice/accent! emoticon

I am way late to the game. I love the fall pictures. Trees here in Illinois are finally showing more color. In the bottom picture it is very interesting how you have the line of red and then all the orange. Wonder why the beavers don't finish what they start. Maybe they take after me, lol.

I would be one of those people pondering my decisions. You should have seen me playing baseball as a kid. No one wanted me on their team as I usually wouldn't swing waiting for the right one. Kick ball was another story.

    Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Great blog and even greater video! Ive never seen a beaver up close like that...can't wait for John to get home for him to view it. Do they put wire mesh around the trees in that area? That's what they are doing around two of the ponds I walk around.

Gorgeous pictures, and I love the video of the beaver. I don't I ever think I've seen a beaver in the wild feeding like that ever. Thanks so much for your video.

Gorgeous colors still by you. We are really starting to get our color now here in lower MI.

    Have a super day.

The video and pictures are beautiful.
The beavers sure do chew a lot.
Yes I agree, it is a shame that lady didn't get her rank. emoticon
    emoticon on your victories.
I had to laugh at 'skinny fat.' I also have that hard to get rid of pot.
I am happy that the smoker won't be bothering you. It is about time after you put up with i for so long.
I hope you figure out your picture system. I am so bad with most of the stuff on the computer.
Have a great day and a happy week.

Your video and pictures are absolutely stunning -- beavers are both industrious and dextrous, and that colour across from Daisy's beach is stunning!

So very very happy about the end of the smoke infiltration in your apartment: that person who's stopped smoking will I expect require a LOT of support not to resume smoking (and your peace and health should not depend upon whether she can . . . long term).

Love the beaver video. Since I live where I do, there are no beavers around here so I find your videos very interesting. It's hard to believe that winter will be here soon. The leaves are turning pretty quickly here now too but not as much as yours. Have a great week.

Know what you're talking about with the smoke. I opened a closed door at work and ... wow! Smoke. Yeah. It just works its way indoors.

The fire situation here has improved and we had 2 good days of air quality over the weekend.

The beavers have definitely been busy chewing. The fall color is lovely. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Love the fall colors....many of us in the US don't have much yet due to warmer than usual weather. OMG, the beaver is so adorable. I am so sorry about the smoke smell.

Hi! I didn't know the smoke smell was so bad. My heart breaks for you! I have asthma and I wouldn't have done well at all. I am so sorry it took her so long to be considerate and I am SO happy that now you can have a normal life again. Can't wait to hear how you organize everything. One of my goals is to get rid of stuff and organize my apartment too.

I loved the beaver clip and all the photos! I love nature and I think your part of the world is just beautiful. I used to live in western USA which has similar weather and miss it living in Florida. Thanks so much for sharing. emoticon emoticon

emoticon Neat video!! Kind of reminds me of eating corn on the cob...

You sure have some gorgeous colors around you.

Too bad about the 99-yr old getting screwed out of a Life Master rank. At that age it's hard to tell her to wait until next year.

Good luck on your defending your Freecell title.

My suggestion for finding your photos would be to make a listing of them in a spreadsheet with certain tags for them and then use the "Find" function to search the database. You could use date, place, subject, list people (or animals) in it, etc.
