I have been MIA for awhile so I figured I would blog and update everyone on what has been going on in my life.
In April my mom fell and broke her ankle in 2 places, it's a broken bone shouldn't have been life threatening right? Well things got bad there were complications with her medicine and she was in the hospital for 2 weeks after surgery and everyday was hit and miss one day she was fine the next I thought we were going to lose her. My dad works out of state and my brother wasn't able to deal with it very well so that left me by her bed side by myself day in and day out, let me tell you that took a toll on me emotionally and mentally. She finally started doing better and was moved to a nursing home for a few weeks to do physical therapy and become a little more independent again. She is now home and doing very well but it was a very long summer of taking care of her and running to appointments 3 times a week needless to say neglected myself in the process.
Fast forward to September I went to the dr because I had been having trouble with my legs retaining water and they were very sore, she told me to try cutting back on my carbs and sodium, so on September 11th I started a keto diet and I have lost almost 20 pounds now, I am starting to see some small differences in my appearance and I have so much more energy now. Hopefully I will be able to stay on track with this and finally hit my goal.
