fall windstorm and finding what works

Wednesday, October 11, 2017

This is from the windstorm I talked about in my last blog. I was actually nervous to drive in it, it was blowing so hard! I was putting gas and my car actually moved! (only a millimeter but freaked me out haha). There were also tree branches all over the roads making it dangerous. Sand was everywhere and getting in my eyes. Glad it's over with though! emoticon

So I've been jogging and full out running on the treadmill. I'm pretty slow compared to before but I'm managing to get a 3 miles average in per day (5k!) but it's slow going. Especially as the week goes on and I my muscles get sore. I'm finding a renewed love a running again and maybe, just maybe, I'll do a 5k in the near future....we'll see.

Still deciding on the job. I have a big back and forth argument in my head about it. The testing date is next Wednesday but I'm just not sure.

Food has been going very well except for pretzels. They are healthier than chips and fries but the salt content is high and salt causes bloat gain. I need to find something else to snack on.

I also haven't had avocado this week. I admit it was hard because I LOOOOVE avocado on everything lol. It's healthy but also high calorie so I have to have it in severe moderation. I can easily eat a whole avocado if I didn't track it (a whole big avocado can be 300+ calories!!)

Last night I made spaghetti squash with grilled chicken and vegetables. The sauce was the most calories but everything else was very low cal. It was good!

emoticon I know it looks kind of weird but I overcooked the squash so it was softer like noodles so it looks deflated. It tasted just like spaghetti with chicken and I got full on it. I actually didn't finish and my hubby ate it along with his haha.

So I'm hoping these healthy little tweaks I'm doing this week will get me a deficit on the scale this week. Here's hoping!

Hope your week is going well

You sound just like me when I started running. I would get so tired to get my 5k in. One day, just to see if I could, I upped the treadmill speed to 4.8mph. I only lasted 15 seconds that day. Each day I tried again. My goal was 30 seconds. When I made that, I tried my 5k at 4.5mph. Again with the 15 seconds the first day. I guess my point is that I kept pushing myself, a little at a time, and it worked. My strength grew, my endurance grew, and before I knew it, I was running at 5.3mph consistently. Keep it up! You are doing well.
