My Daughter is a Brownie in Girl Scouts.
I am amazed at all the things they do, all the badges they can and are earning.
Last year they spent the night at an aquarium, and spent three days at camp. They learned cooking skills, archery, swimming, participated in STEM (science, technology, engineering, & math) activities.
And of course the infamous, and addictive, cookie sales. but cookies are a spring fundraiser.
Fall fundraiser is candy/nuts and magazines. No, it's not what girl scouts are known for but it helps to fund the troop and all the amazing experiences these girls get to have.
I love the sales because it teaches them goal setting and achievement, and we all know how important those skills are.
I hate sale time because my daughter is an idealist and while it is doable, it is a bit stressful to watch her striving for her goals.
But when I think of what she's accomplished this past year, I can't help but be proud of her, all she has done and who she is becoming!
