Low carbs experiment
Thursday, September 14, 2017
This is an interesting experiment. I've seriously reduced my typical carb intake, but not always consistently under 50 carbs/day. And I'm still in reduced calorie mode around 1,600 calories/day. I'm still plateaued around 207 lbs.
The plantar fasciatis is rare now that I mostly wear tennis shoes every day. But I haven't increased my walking back to 3-4 miles/day. I'm just over 1 mile/day with some cardio and calisthenics 5-6 days/week.
With the low carb focus, I'm off the bean kick. I don't have much data and can't relate any positive results from eating 1/2 cup +/day of beans and legumes (e.g. lentils). What I experienced was a lot of gas, farting, and some intense bowel movements. The farting was embarrassing. When I didn't fart, the gas was mildly painful. No real need to record anything more about the BMs.
Without so much fiber, I rarely fart or have gas. This seems like a great improvement to me. And there isn't any constipation from going low carb, so that's good.
