Camping, bridge walk, hiking and getting slightly lost

Well the camping trip has come and gone. It was interesting. I managed 3 nights in the tent! I must admit, my family laughed a bit when I rolled out my little rug to put in my tent! Here I am!

The first night it was 40 degrees and I must admit my nose was cold! The second night was better and then there was the third night - when the wind kicked up, the side of the tent slapped me in the face, the lightning and thunder rolled in along with the pouring rain. I didn't sleep a wink! However, my tent never leaked, I stayed warm and dry (until I had to venture to the bathroom). We had a great time.

We visited Mackinac Island and rode the 8 miles around the island on bikes and climbed all the stairs to arch rock (it seemed like a million). So there was some exercise! The last day we walked the Mackinac Bridge - which was a five mile walk - plus the mile from our car to the bus and another mile from the end of the bridge walk to our car.

I managed to keep the eating somewhat on track, only sampled the fudge and was actually ok with my weigh in the Tuesday after I got home.

It was a busy week. Didn't get groceries for a couple days after I got home - found myself grabbing lunch out and dinner too! I had a visitor from out of state - so yep, we ate out. I ate out a lot and then I found myself out of town for the weekend - so again, no planning meals ahead, no cooking ahead - and I was in the same boat - nothing prepared, no healthy food in the house and grabbing food out. Not to mention that bag of cheese/caramel corn from Costco. Eeeks! Not to mention, with a house guest, exercise was pretty much non-existent.

The scale reflected that. I went up over pound. Here I was hoping to be closer to that 210 mark and instead I was closer to the 215 mark. Well, that trend stops here! Tonight I am stopping at the store and getting some stuff to make a pot of soup and some chicken breasts to cook up and have ready to make things out of! Looking forward to some of those fall apples! I'm actually tired of eating out and eating poorly.

There will be no excuses tonight, I will get out and walk the dog!

We are at hump day - the week is slipping away - but that is no reason to continue on this slippery slope! No waiting until Monday to turn myself around. There is no time like right now. Why slide any further down? It really isn't worth it!

Oh I get so angry with the games I play with myself. Discipline is not one of my strong points! I really need to do some strength training in this area!!!
