This is Tess---the post Blasto German (as in dog)--which cost us $7000 to keep her alive--- the female Shepherd who is recovering from a torn ACL ligament, which cost us $6000---
And the one who we shake our heads at and say, "We must be crazy to spend that sort of money on a dog!"
You know , yesterday , she barked from 6am to 10am, continuously--
I tried to walk her but----she would not go beyond the house---and was barking and jumping at the end of her leash, towards the bush--
I came home!
Well, there was a Bear with 2 cubs, out there.
By dinner time, we had had a call from a neighbour warning us to be careful, as the Mother bear had tried to break into a cottage very close to here---
Tess, with her early warning detection system, had smelled her and sure did not want me out on that back road!
Dogs sure are helpful when you live in the wilds of the North---
I tell himself that perhaps we need more of these canines---
He nearly had a fit!
Lord love a Duck!----
Because of Tess, I am not "Bear Stew"--I am still hoping to fit into the wedding outfit----
I can still blog---
Tess is posting this sign at the edge of the bush---
Son#3 the Policeman, just arrived out here--said a bear will never attack a Human if you have your dog on a leash-----but (that big "butt")=-if you take the dog off the leash, the bear considers the dog (who will chase the bear) a threat---and will kill the dog---
Interesting "Bear knowledge"-----
