More on the Hurricane Victims.....

For those who know Laurel, she let us know via FB, today, that she, her husband and Sadie, their dog, had to move into a Motel 6, as they could not use their toilet at home, and apparently had no water. They are only 30 min. from home, which will give them the opportunity of running, well, driving, to their condo. when needed, but plan on staying at Motel 6 indefinitely, meaning until the situation in Rockport will improve. She considers herself an evacuee, now.
My husband's cousin, living in Kingwood, TX, has taken people in, including a 96-year old man from a retirement home. He cannot speak, but he feels that this gentleman is better off in their house, than in a refugee camp, and hopes that he feels comfortable, although, he cannot express himself.
My TX friend, who, presently (just for 3.5 months), lives and works in No. CA, told me that she let some friends and family use her house while she is in CA. She mentioned that 8 people live in her "little house". She also organized for a friend to stay with one of her sisters, who was surprised when he showed up with his 96-year old father. My friend had to arrange for medication delivery from CA for this gentleman. Thank goodness, she works for a hospital and it was probably a little easier for her, than somebody else.
Many, many stories can be told. I am sure, some of you have had your own experiences.
