Not Paying TOO much attention to the Negative on the Comeback Trail

Saturday, August 12, 2017

My Mom was harping on how I seem to dwell on the negative going on in my life. How I keep on analyzing it. Gotta love Moms. But I also, after doing all that, emoticon , find a way out and make a comeback, hence my name here on SparkPeople. But we all have a limit though, I must admit! emoticon
At work the other day, and I'm grateful Marcia said it, she said it to this young man at work: "Don't get so hung up on every thing that bothers you". And you know, she's right! Want to here something else? I read an article where the writer mentioned that: "not every thing deserves your attention and energy". I know I'm guilty of being a little too distracted with things. It's always good to acknowledge things, don't eat them away or delve into a bad habit to deal with it. I mean sometimes focusing on the event TOO much instead of reflecting on it or problem solving can be harmful. Here's to feeling the emotions, talking it out with a loved one, problem solving and getting in that long walk or exercise to make a comeback! Keep on Sparking friends! emoticon emoticon

I am glad I read your blog today! I can relate well to what you are saying. Before I turned 50, I was the worrier and hanging on to what didn't work and trying so hard to change it. After 50, I made the decision to change that. Like you, I heard someone say "choose your battles". So, I thought, why not? It works! Many times I will see a situation and say to myself, "is it worth the battle right now, here?" And many times, no! No, it isn't worth it. More peace in my life for sure. emoticon emoticon
