The different kinds of friends

I realize that I've been complaining about not having friend IRL and in my blog. And that may have been misleading because I wasn't specific. I'm yearning for those kinds of friends you had when you were younger...maybe in high school or maybe when in college. Those friends who you could drop in on, hang out with, whatever.

My close friends are all back in the Midwest. It's probably rose-colored glasses, but I remember being a lot more socially active with them. Doing something - movies, hanging out, playing cards, dinner, etc - a lot.

Now here on the East Coast, I don't have any regional friends like that. I'm working on it, but instead of a pity party. Well, I should throw a real party and invite some people.
