Starting Week 7 feeling GREAT!

Last week's toe injury was not as serious as I thought. While it still hurts a bit after a 20 minute walk, I have been walking the past 3 days and it is feeling better daily. My TOPS weigh-in Monday evening indicated I had lost 2 pounds for a total of 9.75 pounds since June 4th. I am happy with myself for eating healthy every day within my recommended calorie range and I have been getting in some kind of physical activity everyday. I am napping a lot less than I used to and sleeping better at night.

I got the stability ball fully inflated Friday evening, but it was much too big for me. Returned it to amazon and am waiting for the smaller ball to arrive. I also ordered a set of resistance bands. I looked at my local walmart for a stability ball hoping I wouldn't have to wait for shipping again. The balls there were super cheap, but were recommended for a maximum weight of 250 pounds. As I weigh about 253 I decided it was better to stick with the heavy duty trideer ball from amazon.

I pulled my dumbbells out of storage and dusted them off. I hadn't used them in over 3 years. Started working with 2 1/2 pounds weights and spark seated upper body strengthening video this week. I was able to complete the video twice today. I think I will be a bit sore tomorrow, but it feels good to have accomplished that. I think I will be able to move up to the 5 pound weights in a week or two. I am still struggling to balance rest days and exercise. I am feeling so great after a brisk walk that I want to do it everyday despite having a lot of sore muscles. I will try to alternate the upper body weight sessions with days walking and hope that gives my muscles enough rest time while still boosting my mood everyday. My leg muscles are feeling a lot better after the days off this week waiting for my toe to heel so I realize I have to give my legs rest time for muscle repair and not keep pushing my limits further every day.

I can't believe this is week 7 of my journey to improved health and fitness already. The time is flying by and I am feeling stronger and more energetic every day. :-)
