Starting Week 5 Feeling Encouraged and Positive
Monday, July 03, 2017
Week 4 I maintained my activity level and upped my intake 100 calories a day. I ate near the middle of my calorie range. Most of the increase though came from unhealthy cake & donuts celebrating my birthday this week with friends. Got right back on track Sunday and was pleased to record a 2 pound loss at TOPS for the week. Total loss after 4 weeks, 7.75 pounds. More importantly I am feeling great! Have been eating super healthy for the most part and can't believe how full and satisfied I feel eating quality foods instead of trying to fill myself with breads, toast, donuts & cookies which always left me feeling hungry and uncomfortable. My GERD symptoms are almost nonexistent :-) I am sleeping better and my daily walks are getting easier. I also noticed that I am less winded after climbing up and down the stairs.
For a birthday treat for myself I ordered a stability ball which I plan to use sitting at my computer every day. I also purchased a quality kitchen scale that has made accurately tracking my nutrition a lot easier. After reading some of the spark articles I realized I have not been giving my body enough time to recover from exercise, so I am going to back off a little and not push myself so hard. I am hoping the soreness will subside and walks will be more enjoyable. I hadn't realized that rest was an important component of an exercise program.
Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July!
