Vacation, bridesmaid dresses and chocolate

Monday, July 03, 2017

Last week, I was on vacation and it was wonderful.

I ate pretty healthy, though I didn't keep up with tracking, I was okay with that. I made healthier choices in all that I did, and that was good for me. There will be times that I can't track, and I still need to just be aware.

Yesterday, however, I ate sugar. I haven't had it since before April. I had too much, and felt sick. I'm going to remember that feeling to avoid it in the future. Yes, moderation isn't bad, so smaller servings and I probably would have been fine!

So huge NSV (eating right on vacation) and a fall back (chocolate binge) but I recovered and think I know my reasons. (Close to goal, lots of other thing, stress from life, lack of sleep)

Now, onto the bridesmaid dresses. We went shopping for them about a month ago, and I ordered mine about 2-3 weeks ago. (I posted about it). I was debating strongly about ordering a smaller size, because the size I wear that I tried on was a little large up top. And I didn't want to have to take it all in.

Well, I ordered the smaller size. I figured that by the time of the wedding, it would definitely fit. The wedding isn't until October.

The dress came in when I left for vacation. I picked it up yesterday and tried it on.

It fits almost perfectly! In fact, if anything, it might be a little big in part of the chest area. So the good news is that I could lose exactly 0 pounds and not need the dress altered. I'm definitely relieved that it not only fits as is, but then by working out and continued healthy eating I can probably lose weight, and have it taken in. That being said, I will likely call the seamstress in early September, so I guess we will see how much I lose in 2 months. I know it won't be a huge amount, and the way that the dress is made, I likely won't need much done to it.

So I'm doing really well, actually. I ran two miles a day on vacation (without stopping, which I didn't think I could do) and was really happy with life and progress!

Here comes life!

WTG! Nice job on your vacation. Sounds like you knew what you had to even if you could not track for that week. Ran two miles a day - wow - I can't run two tenths of a mile. I love sugar, too! Probably the one bag thing that has happened in the two months that I have been a part of SP is learning that sugar does not cause diabetes. Luckily, I had been cutting back on my sugar for a quite awhile before SP, so I think that I have it under control. I look forward to hearing about your September fitting.
