Starting week 4 feeling a little disappointed.

My weigh-in at TOPS tonight showed a 1/2 pound gain for the week even though I increased my average daily calorie burn by 100 and only increased my consumption by 20 calories a day. In the first two weeks following the suggestions I lost over 6 pounds total. The only unhealthy eating I did was a piece of birthday cake with my son yesterday. I will try to stay focused on all the nutritious food I put into my body in the proper quantity these past 3 weeks and the increased activity I have been doing each day. I feel GREAT and have tons more energy than 3 weeks ago.

I have been reading lately how it is a prayer with our body to properly nourish and care for ourselves physically. My favorite quote from a book I have recently been reading is. "If your body is the temple of the Lord, how can you put food into it which is unhealthy and which you do not need." I have never been able to get the connection in my mind of why it is offensive to God to indulge in gluttony behaviors before. I have also been reading a book about positive aspects of Christian Fasting and learned that restricting eating should turn our attention to praise for God's bounty and not focus on struggle with deprivation.
