10 Weeks of Keeping the Dreams Alive - Completed - Now What?
Thursday, June 01, 2017
So 10 weeks ago I started back Sparking and committed to 10 weeks of working on my health and fitness and keeping my dreams alive. Fast forward, and I mean fast, that was 74 days ago. The time passed so quickly and here I am still Sparking, still committed and ready to take on my next 10 weeks.
Much of the past 10 weeks has been devoted to rehabbing my knee after surgery. It is quite a bit better, but I did have a setback when I tripped and fell last week. Hopefully this has just been a short setback and I will be back to gaining strength in the next few days.
So what is my focus going to be over the summer? I am planning on bringing my sugar consumption as low as possible. Other than that my food intake has been pretty clean. I do add sugar to my coffee, so I will either give up coffee or just drink it black.
For exercise I plan on keeping up my walking, trying to get the 10,000 steps everyday. And I will continue with adding weight to my barbell workout which I do 3 times a week. I may also add some weights to my leg exercises depending on how my knee is doing.
That's about it for now. I will continue working on my garden which seems to be ongoing this year. Just when it feels like I have things under control, it is time to start back at the beginning again.
The one really beautiful result of committing to 10 weeks is that for 10 weeks I stayed on track. That isn't saying that it wasn't a challenge at times. What I am saying is that for 10 weeks I could go to bed feeling proud of my choices for the day and wake up everyday excited that I have kept myself on track. It has really helped me feel happy to look forward to what each day will bring. For 10 weeks I have been feeling so joyful just knowing that I am keeping my wellbeing in the forefront of my daily life.
