lately I've allowed my body image to "go to pot"---
I used to think that once the children were grown---I'd have more time for me---
--so far, that just has not happened---
You see, I am 74 years young, and my days seem busier than ever--
My children have been replaced with pets----my himself has aged-requires time on my part now just to have him hear me----and -the chores around the house here has increased without the kids to kick in---
What I'm saying is, taking time in my day for me lately, has not been a priority in my day----
You see, about a week ago, a financial Lady came to visit us, to advise us on retirement-
I expected some dowdy person to appear---
But--(there is that big "butt")----- standing at our door was a very striking older Lady, dressed in a smart short suit, with beautiful blond hair, and a smile on her face-- even her toenails were painted red---(I noticed this as she took her shoes off at the door)--
She held out her hand as she said hello---I liked her right away----She had a smile on her face, as she told me her name was Bonnie (even the name seemed refreshing!)-
After she left, Himself , asked me if I noticed her jewelry--I could tell that he was impressed too--
"Lord love a Duck---It's time I took time for my appearance" , I thought--
--perhaps take more time to spruce up my image---slap on a bit of lipstick---grab a decent shoe when I shop---perhaps hold in the ol' tummy more---smile and show the world a positive outlook on life (even though there are those days I feel kinda "out of it" with sciatica creeping into my life!
And since I've spruced up my 74 year old body, Himself even commented, "Your toenails are red"----
"Yes", I said--"At my age, Ive decided I need some colour in my life", as I tried to brush the dog hair from my new stunning colourful outfit.
We don't have to look like this---every day----when we can look like this-
Himself might even listen to me more from now on----'specially with the red toenails!
