Frustrations of not showing progress

I started Sparkpeople AGAIN over 5 weeks ago. This time I am going to do what I want, and I am going to loose my 100 lbs.
Luckily, there are tons of articles and recipes to help a person out. I am told there is all kinds of other motivational things here such as other sparkpeople trying to do the same thing as me. That is the part I am doubting actually. I love reading the trending posts and the success stories, but I am not sure how motivational they are.
So many "big" loosers posting their 10-30 lb losses in just one week, so many people posting their high step counts from their fitbits; over 30,000 steps in one day, so many people posting about how they ate under 1000 calories and are SO FULL they couldn't eat another bite.
I so want to be one of them. I have been here over 5 weeks and haven't lost my first 10 lbs. I have altered my eating big time, removed the high calorie carbs, am trying to be so conscious of what I am eating, eliminating the snacking, eating mostly chicken and fish. I have upped my exercise. Even on days when I golf 9 holes I only log about 8000 steps.
I am in the obese category, I thought obese people loose the first few pounds faster than those who don't have as much to loose. Nope........not me! I read all those posts, I just want to connect with the person who have lost but struggled along the way and took forever to show any progress, someone who had the frustrations I am facing. Is there anyone out there who is the turtle in the group? I want to share in your successes and get motivated from your similar struggles and perseverance.
