The Paris countryside with Claireinparis-part 1

Friday, April 14, 2017

I am home from the most amazing trip to France! I have been to Paris 4 times, but this was a trip like no other trip to Paris! As many of you know, I went to spend a week with Claireinparis, who had just moved into a new house and has a very tough last few weeks.
There is something very special about being able to spend time with a friend doing very mundane things that we do in our daily life, and having the time of our lives doing it!
Please join me in my trip to Paris and the fun that we had!

As I walked into Claire's new home, these are the lilacs from her tree in her garden that greeted me with a heavenly smell!

We had stopped for a croissant from the local boulangerie very near Claire's house! The French take their bread very seriously. It is absolutely amazing and I enjoyed every bite of bread during my week's stay.

Our day started with a delightful healthy breakfast in the sunny kitchen.

A few days after I arrived, we brought this beautiful buffet home for the kitchen. It was our strength training exercise for the day as it was quite heavy, but isn't it gorgeous. It blends in so well with the beautiful purple wall and the rest of the kitchen color. We both fell in love with it and it was a piece of art to look at each day!.

And now for the hikes. I was looking over my pics and I was overwhelmed once again with the beauty that I experienced there, so please enjoy all of these wonderful hikes with me.
The first hike we went on was in to Lyons-la-forĂȘt, a little village that was so lovely and we even found wild orchids, which I had never seen before!

Claire had told me that perhaps it would be bluebell season while I was there and there were many field of bluebells.

There was a quaint little bicycle behind the branches but hard to see it.

The black portion of this church was very interesting to me as it looked quite cold and forbidding in the distance.

The flowers and trees were in bloom everywhere you looked.

Almost back to our starting point for the day.

We stopped for an amazing little treat before heading back after our wonderful hike and then back home to relax for a while. Thank you for reading my blog about the first part of my trip. I will probably post a couple more as I really like to take pics and you have to see this beauty to really experience it fully but I know for me, this was just amazing as to how green and how fresh everything is.
Please read Claire's blog about our week as well!
