Crossfit Games

Despite much trepidation I signed up for the Crossfit games at my box-not the nation wide registration but just the teams at our box. Really glad I did, I'm pushing myself out of my comfort zone BIG TIME and although I still get frustrated that my body can't do what it probably could 15 years ago, I can be badass. Last week whipped through the 50 foot weighted walking lunges and knee raises, but got stuck on the pull ups (which I struggled with when I was younger, my bottom half has ALWAYS been bigger than the top). I spent about 4 minutes attempting to get a pull up to no avail-but worked on my jumping pull ups. So now, new goal-to do a proper pull up by the end of the year. Have to say-although I have only lost about one pound I can see a SIGNIFICANT difference in my waist as well as in my strength. I also got my labs back from my physical exam and my cholesterol levels are back to what I was in high school!!! Some times it's the non scale victories!

Excited for the 17.3 games announcement. As I am working all weekend I am going to do it right after the announcement. Talk about feeling like a true athlete, getting to compete right after the announcement!! Nervous (and definitely outside my comfort zone) but excited to get it in.
