I'm finally back!

I don't know why I quit sparkpeople. I just skipped 1 day, then 2 days, now it's been 1 1/2 years. I've known I needed to get back on track, but I just didn't want to. Isn't that awful? But, I'm honest, and I'm sure I'm not alone. Anyway, I had my wake-up call last week when the dr. said I'm pre-diabetic.....like MS isn't enough to deal with. So, now I'm back. It's been so long, that I'll need to reacquaint myself with the website. And, I certainly need everyone's support.

    Boy I am glad you are back! Do you realize what a blessing you are? If you are pre-diabetic go into eating the diabetic way. They have choices if you don't have the exact same foods.
    Eat three regular meals, and two or three small healthy snacks in between!
    my doctor told me that my cholesterol even was lower than when I was at a lower weight.
    But I know that I was doing vitamins to also help with it. If you can afford it vitamins like:
    1. chromium picolinate-it stabilizes blood sugar,
    2.garlic-helps to thin out the blood(also kills virus' and bacterial infections),
    3.coQ10-help heart & health muscle
    4.magnesium-helps with nerves, depression, stabilize emotions
    5. D3- because you need it with MS, and need more sun light, good for bones & nerves
    6. ginko biloba- opens up vessels, nite vision

    Scale back on foods that elevate you blood sugar: proceeded foods, fast foods, excessive salts or sugar, excessive caffeine's (coffee/tea/chocolate-no more than 2 serving daily), no pop/not even low calorie, no vitamin drinks, only eat a 1/2 potato but sweet potatoes are better! Cut back on beef consumption-twice a week-eat more wild caught salmon.

    pre diabetes usually leads to diabetes which damages organs, high blood pressure, heart attack , or stroke.
    Get rid of all the foods in your house that comfort you, and you binge on!

    Welcome back! I don't think you'll have to spend too much time reacquainting yourself with the web site. While it has changed, it's still Spark and it's always a great place to hang around. I think you'll see yourself into it again.
