Things are looking up!

Things have been much better since my last knee gel injection. The pain is still there, but pretty much only when I go up and down stairs or I'm on a steep incline.

I still hurt a lot of other places due to my RA, but I'm pushing through it. I'm riding my recumbent bike every day and some strength training. Leg days are a challenge since I have a really hard time with squats or lunges... anything where my knee has to bend. LOL! I have looked up some videos on YouTube for physical therapy for knees. That is helping and a yoga plan I downloaded to help with pain and lack of flexibility.

I have lost 15 pounds total since Thanksgiving and for that I am proud. Usually people gain that much during the holidays but I lost it! WOO HOO!

I am eating very VERY clean and I feel the difference on the inside. It's amazing how much I was bloated. I'm using a kind of Zone/Paleo type plan for my eating. Every meal works out to be a 40%/30%/30% split for carbs/fat/protein and 90% of the carbs come from fruits and vegetables. Really the only grain I still eat is a piece of Ezekiel bread every once in a while.

I have also given up diet soda and most artificial sweeteners in favor of Stevia. That was a huge one. I'm almost 2 months without a diet soda. No more heartburn now , no gas, no bloating. I drink water 99% of the time with a hot tea or coffee on a very rare occasion. So I feel like I've also broken my addiction to caffeine.

It's amazing when you stop abusing your body with what you put in it what changes. I would just like to wake up one day and feel good. That day is coming. I can feel it a little more each day.

    Do I ever understand! Nice to have those good days occasionally, to wake up feeling good. Be careful that you don't aggravate that knee. Smart move to look up physical therapy strengthening moves for it. I've done a lot of therapy for my legs over the years. Seems like I was there every year for awhile.

    right people usually gain not lose during Holidays,that IS emoticon emoticon
    about the knees,feel your pain because i have knee problems also.We take our knees for
    granted til they give out on us.You are doing emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    It sounds like you've found a really good balance for you with the meal planning. I always notice a huge difference when I start drinking water and eliminate soda. I still am having my one cup of coffee most work days. To lose 15 pounds during Thanksgiving is an achievement. I think I found your 15 lol. I hope the day is near where the inflammation and pain of RA subsides and you feel 100%. I think you are right...it's just right around the corner!
