Progress Looks Different Every Day

I've been desperate for a sign that this is working. I have only been at this, this time around for, now, seven days. It is too early for my clothes to fit differently. I know not to step on the scale every day, and to not take too much stock in what the scale says when I do finally step on tomorrow. So I need an alternative sign.
And then it happened. I live where it is really winter right now, and I hate winter. Especially when I have to go to work. We park our cars outside (we converted the garage into a home gym - so no regrets) and most mornings I will start my car three or four times to avoid scraping ice and snow. This morning, I forgot to start it, and sure enough, my windshield was covered with ice. That's when my sign happened. I started scraping, and realized this was a great upper body work out! This totally motivated me to really scrape, and the harder I scraped, the warmer I got, and weirdly, the more fun I had! One of the Spark Coach lessons this week talked about identifying success that isn't focused on the scale, including the fact that some workouts would get easier. I never thought that would include something that always seemed like a pain before. No more warming the car for me! I want sculpted arms when this winter is over!
