My mom recently passed away. She was remarkable woman.
She raised 4 children, I was the 3rd and oldest daughter.
Growing up we always went camping for our family vacations, visiting all sorts of places. Mom and dad planed and went on Alaska for about 8 weeks, mainly sleeping in there van.
Mom loved music and sang in the church choir for over 50 years. I remember singing along while mom played hymns on the piano.
After graduating from CMU and getting my first job mom helped me set up my apartment. I think she had more fun then I did. I wasn't so sure about moving away from home (even only 2.5 hrs away.)
When DH and I got new jobs and moved to Wisconsin she was there helping us move. Looking forward to coming over for visits.
Mom loved to do most crafts including, sewing, counted cross stitch, knitting and painting. Growing up she made a lot of my clothes, she was always knitting hats for the ICU babys. She tried quilting once but it didn't suit her.
Mom had dementia and had lost a lot of her memories and abilities over the past few years. Two years ago when she was here visiting she thought she was in Iowa at the farm where she grew up. We just sat and listened to her talk.
She always liked to hear about our sheep and chickens. She never got to see the sheep because it was always snowy and the ground too uneven for her to walk, when she was here visiting.
Her beloved dog Timmy and her two cats Kealey and Tiggers are all living with us now. CD our cat was batting Timmy on the head this morning so I think all will be well.
Mom will be missed.
