The Nail that broke the Camel's Back

Friday, November 18, 2016

We have been in the process of getting our house painted and some siding/trim replaced. It has been very frustrating!! A 1-2 week process is now been going on for 12 weeks! Many weeks the painters were here less than 20 hours. They didn't replace boards correctly and had to redo numerous times. I won't go into all the damage etc. But last night, when my husband was checking windows because it was snowing he found they had nailed through our bathroom window and he was unable to lock it. Needless to say we aren't happy!!

My MIL fell again this week. She wasn't hurt. But she is now in such a weakened state that she can't get out of bed on her own. I was so glad I was able to call hospice and they could come and take care of her.

The Fall 5% Challenge ends today. I am looking forward to the Winter 5% which begins in January. But I will be doing the in-between 5% challenge with the Cloverleaf team. I love the camaraderie and accountability of the Clovers!! I am hoping this will help me to maintain through the stress of the painting job, my MIL's hospice and the holidays.

Good craftsmen are so hard to find. Hope they fix it for you.

Prayers for your MIL. I know how hard it can be.

I have been wanting to call a contractor to paint the inside of my house, and just keep putting it off, not sure I have the time to put up with it, I swear in all of my experiences with contractors, only one of them got it done on time, and correct. Unbelievable how they drag things out. glad you will be in the in-between challenge too , me, I need the accountability.

sure am sending good thoughts to you and your family,

Omigosh! I hope things get fixed correctly--I hate having other people fix stuff around the house. Have fun with the winter challenge ;-).

Praying for you and your family during this time with your mother-in-law. And remodeling/home improvement came be so stressful. We had problems when we had vinyl siding on our home and a couple doors changed. Ugh! You will do great with the challenges. emoticon emoticon
