We are blessed with many tools here on Spark People. I love my Spark friends, many of whom I have shared my journey with for a number of years. I appreciate the nutrition tracker, the fitness tracker, the Spark recipes and the informative articles. Spark teams are wonderful ways to bond with like minded people as we work toward our goals.
One team, the 5% challenge team, is especially effective for me. In an environment of friendly competition, teams compete against other teams over an eight week period. The overall goal is to lose 5% of your body weight. Each week there are new daily goals, such as drinking 8 glasses of water or getting enough sleep or limiting sodium intake, etc. Also, each member tracks daily exercise and adds it to his/her team total of exercise minutes. Some days I do the healthy things simply so that I won't let my team members down. This team keeps me focused on healthy habits every day.
