Wow, it has been almost a year since I last blogged. And what a year!! I started out strong in January with the Spark People Winter 5% Challenge and a Metabolic Effect Feed the Lean Challenge. I lost around 7 pounds and I was starting to heal from adrenal fatigue. Then things went crazy.
We went back to Delaware to care for my MIL who has dementia/Alzheimers, after her breast cancer surgery. After the surgery we realized she could no longer live on her own. We started the process of packing up her house and moved her to live with us the end of February.
The last 9 months have been a roller coaster. Three weeks ago, she fell out of her bed. She didn't get hurt, but things have gone downhill. She hasn't anything solid to eat for a week and barely drinks anything. This last Monday, she was admitted into in-home hospice. The nurses say she probably has 2-4 weeks at the most.
Also, during this time, my kilting business has taken off. This has been a blessing, because it was a good stress reliever to sit and sew.
I am still struggling with adrenal fatigue which makes it hard to lose weight. I am grateful for Spark People and the 5% Challenges and SparkFriends!! The challenges have helped me not to gain weight, but to really maintain, which is so unusual when I am under stress. This is the final week of the Fall 5% Challenge and the LTGL challenge is to blog. It was a good prompt for me to get back to blogging.
