10-30-2016 - Nearly the end of October

Sunday, October 30, 2016

Well my challenge to myself to blog or write in journal more often has been going pretty well.

I have decided to leave Jenny Craig and talked to them last Monday and that is going fine. I just need to focus on what I need to do to maintain and that really is on me. I also need a little more time to do that so I am cutting one activity from my schedule. Also The Curves i have been going to for about 5 years is closing at the end of this week, So I will not be working there after this week. I am scheduled for one morning but will see how that goes. Last week I was suppose to work 3 mornings, one was an add on to help out owner and ended up adding 2 afternoons to that schedule, really busy. So not having to work regularly even if only a 6 days a month is another way I will be getting a little more time.

I have been ding my tai chi at least 2 times a week and i am pretty proud of that. So plans for November:

Stick to current eating plan and only modify if gain of 1-2 lbs, I am going to only weigh myself 2 times a week for now and see how that goes, will add more if needed. I want to work on ly calorie intake to get it to where I have a little leeway, so that I can have a treat meal once a week, but just one meal and not a free be but a planned treat. I think the goal will be to be able to eat the foods I know but in time not schedule and chart it all the time. But for right now I still need this discipline while working on it.
Exercise will stay about the same Curves or gym 4-5 times a week and walking intervals 5-6 days a week. This is basically what I am going now and it works for me. As the weather gets colder and wetter, I hope, I can transition to my recumbent bike for the cardio. Or walk later in the days to avoid the cold mornings. This is pretty normal for late fall and winter.
So that is the plan.
As for the holidays: Halloween is a challenge I do each year, no candy for 5 days around and through Halloween and then I can have a couple days where I eat one piece of my favorites but only the snack size. Thanksgiving is not a hard one for me, I do the cooking and have the day planned out so that I can eat reasonable portions of my favorite food and enjoy the day and still keep it within control. It all comes down to what is really important and eating till I am over full is not important, my good health is and enjoying the day with my family.

Hope everyone has a great November and that you are making plans for the holidays to control them and not the other way around.

Thank you for coming by and for my friends for your support and help through the years we have known each other.

Hugs and smiles
Deb

Glad to hear you are making a few changes in your life and getting ready for this last part of the year. I know you will do just fine with your eating and exercising. Just remember how hard you have worked to get where you are.

    Hugs!

Your Halloween challenge sounds great! We never get trick or treaters here, so we don't stock up on candy to give out and wind up with a bunch of leftovers.
