Another Blog for BLC

I'm not much of a blogger - I often feel I'm not very good at expressing myself in words so I mostly don't try! But once more for our WEC we need to blog to earn points (in this case we are playing BINGO, and I WANT a blackout!) We were given a topic - 'What you are doing right this BLC.'

The big thing I'm doing right is BEING a team member of the HOT Mocha Maniacs BLC team. I've been asked more than once why I continue in BLC - after all I reached my goal weight in November 2011. I'm not trying to lose weight - I just want to MAINTAIN my weight.

And THAT my friends is exactly why I continue to be a part of a BLC team. Oh, I also enjoy supporting others in their weight loss efforts - its a form of 'giving back' for the support I was and am given.

But much more important is that this is the FIRST time in my adult life that I've maintained my weight for more than a year. Some people may be able to do that by 'watching it' but not me. It takes true focus for me to maintain my weight, and I've found the easiest way to maintain that focus is to stay a part of BLC.

We have weekly challenges (TNT - Tone and Tighten, WEC - weekend challenges that last from Friday thru Monday, and LCW - last chance workout where we focus on doing extra exercise a day or two before weigh-in Wednesday.

And THAT - WIN or weigh in Wednesday is a vital part of why I need BLC. I need accountability. I'm maintaining, but my weight does not always stay the same - in fact it rarely stays exactly the same. I was on a team once with a long term maintainer who weighed 120 week after week after week. I could never understand that - my weight just doesn't work that way.

So its important for me to post my weekly weight for the BLC world to see. If I gain a couple of pounds its ok - but to remain my MoM (Master of Maintenance) status I have to stay within 5 pounds of my goal weight so I have to keep that goal in focus! BLC makes that easy! Its all about focus and accountability!!

And one more aspect of BLC I love is all the friends I've made. I've met a few of them IRL but most remain virtual friends. But that's ok - I've learned that virtual friends are a joy as are IRL friends! One can never have too many friends!!
