A time of self forgiveness

Friday, October 07, 2016

It's been quite a while since I've posted or been active on the site and I've missed it. Mow I'm recommitting to myself. Dear hubby has had his surgery for weight lose and all is going well so far. I joined him in the two week liquid diet before the surgery and lost about 13 pounds which rocks. Now to keep the momentum going. We are working together as a team to reach our goals. Encouraging each other and offering suggestions based on our strong suits is fun. Trying to still let go of things that happened in the last few years and despite the challenges we have all found our way . It's time to let it go. Dear son has started a new career in construction and remodeling of homes. Dear daughter is in college and working actively in the LGBT community as well as the deaf community. She's had a long standing love for sign language and I'm excited for her and proud of them both. I've been in the truck with dh full time for 15 months now. I've been coast to coast and still love it. I've been reading, working on crochet projects, cross stitch and listening to podcasts plus we listen to audiobooks. I've taken thousands of pictures and share them on Facebook. We cook in the truck or on the grill which is always good. I'll be working to share our adventures and my cooking here.

I read your most recent blog before this one. Your kids are growing, doing well and THRIVING. They have moved on from the past and have grown from it. Now YOU must too. YOU did not fail........and YOU did not do anything but do your best. Sometimes our best, even when it's all we can do, doesn't seem like enough and guilt enters the cracks in our soul. Once it's there, it cements itself and is very difficult to remove. Use the strength your kids have developed in all this to be the jackhammer to crack the cement the guilt has forged and get rid of it. You don't deserve to beat yourself up anymore. Life is way too short!!! Good for you and DH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take all that you are doing together and move on. And know that you are worth it!
