I haven't been doing a very good job blogging lately or recording much of anything for that matter. After school started for the kiddos life has really not settled and that's okay, I guess that's just life! Aside from the kids and hubby's changing schedules; my manager decided to take a new position within the health system we work for which means a lot of change and a whole lot more work until we get someone hired and trained. Then of course there have been sick kids. Last Friday my youngest was diagnosed with pneumonia and the very same day my middle child had a sever allergic reaction that caused hives and terrible blistering over 90% of her face! I'm thankful everyone is doing better and will be okay but it has been a bit of a crazy past month and I had planned for it to be a leveling out time. Haha, God must not have agreed with me. For a couple weeks work politics really had me down which has made the scale sort of stagnant but things are better at least in the way I am going to deal with stress and crazy life issues.

In the past all of these things would have became an excuse not to continue with my healthy choices because food is my vice. While I have not completely conquered this vice, I can say I've come a long way! The scale has not moved as much as I planned in the past month but my clothes keep getting bigger and I have managed to cope with stress in other ways rather then eating it away. It's a good feeling to finally feel more in control of my emotions and to know that life is always going to be unpredictable (at least at times) but that it doesn't mean I throw in the towel and quit on myself.

In 3 months time I've managed to lose 10% of my total weight and challenged myself more then I have in a good while. 3 months ago I huffed and puffed after walking 2 blocks and now I do an average of 3 miles a day and sometimes it's not enough to make me sweat! Our bodies are amazing and I want to take care of mine so that I can keep on surprising myself and look back on all the miles behind me to remind myself just how far I've come. I have many more miles to go and more challenges ahead of me and I'm excited about them but more importantly I'm excited about my today and my future. Live your best life and be the best you!
