Iron_Resolve is now LongLeanNLanky 179.6

Saturday, September 24, 2016

When I was a kid, this was how our Mother referred to us, as Long Lean and Lanky. She got a kick out of us being tall and skinny like she was. As I gained weight through the years, this no longer fit. Here on Spark I needed a strong name, to build my resolve to take better care of myself. The name I chose, Iron_Resolve, is actually a military term. And my blogs began showing up at the top of the google search page, right alongside of military discussions. Hence, my page had reached 17,400 + hits. I didn't like that kind of notoriety. So I took my page offline and to private only to Spark Friends.
I have since learned to face everything in life. My fears, disappointment, and ultimately my weight gain. I have followed though with my adult son's advice, "Mom, you just have to take care of yourself"
It has been a long road through self discovery. I have learned to stand in my own truth. I have always been courageous and generous. Now is the time to be fearless, and self focused for results that matter.
Could I reduce my Blood Pressure? I sure did when I did a 5% Challenge and lost 30 lbs
Could I further reduce my Cholesterol? I did lose 30 points.
Maybe 30 is my magic number! We'll see, but I would love for it to be 50. As in Pounds LOST Forever.
But I wail start here, today, with a softer, kinder, gentler moniker.
Good Luck to everyone here, on our Journey to improved Health and Fitness.

Well, LONGLEANNLANKY, I'm glad you're back with your new name. I've been sort of off and on for a while and would like to be on again, so I'm counting on your new resolve rubbing off on me! Never in my whole life have I been long, lean, and lanky, even when my weight was in the normal range! But I guess we should all accept our body types and be joyful for good health.

You seem so optimistic and ready for results. It really helped me to read this blog, because your enthusiasm is contagious!

TY SO MUCHERS ! NOW I KNOW WHy you seemed familiar !! WOOHOOOOO !! LOVE the way you have explained both names and why the "Longleannlanky" fits now ! YEAH GAL !!

Please do NOT give up,, ever hon. Keep what your son said ALWAYS in mind. I don't know if you know "Dawnsuccess"? She did a vblog which is a featured vblog. I encourage ALL of us to go and listen to it.

Here's the link (Sorry they don't allow us in blogs (WHY NOT???) to put in links so you'll need to copy and paste. IF it doesnt workhere's how to find it: Under the Community tab on our front page, click on the tab,, it'll bring up a drop down menu,,, click on Members Blogs,, you will see the featured blogs and the vblogs. Dawns is uner "Vblog." if you don't see it there (will probably be in the earlier ones,,,, ) just click on the blue button on the left hand side, lower side where it says "See more video Vblogs" and you will see it there.

How are you doing? I am hanging on in. Just WANT the next 2 weeks and 1 day to COME FASTER !! The 12th is my surgery date. Than I can FINALLY start to heal !! I am not sure of the time line for this,, he did say it takes a month to heal. I am HOPING I'll be able to continue to use my knee walker as tolerated. LOL he doesn't know me yet,,, he'll find out i do NOT like down time !

    HUGS hon !
