Doing something is better than doing nothing!

I started consciously working out on Monday, inspired by my friend Sharon. She is focused and enjoys a lot of the same things I do, except she likes (and used to teach) exercise. Oh, I'm not opposed to it. I enjoy seeing OTHER PEOPLE working out!

A long time ago, in a far away land, I taught water aerobics. It was after an injury that I started water aerobics and it was not at all common or popular. But - I lost 35 pounds doing it. I started back after the latest injury, but wasn't motivated enough to stay.

So here I am, highest weight I've ever been partly because I have convinced myself that I don't like controlled exercise. You know something, I think I have just been lazy. I work from home or in the greenhouse or gardens. I sweat, because it's hot, but it's not raising my heart rate. I spend way too much time at my computer and in meetings, working on making my businesses successful.

The only person stopping me from succeeding is myself! I'm not making commitments to anyone else, because y'all can't see me. The one I am accountable to is myself. Sharon and I are reminding/sharing workouts with each other via text. But I am the one who has to look in the mirror and be accountable for what I see and how I feel. I am going to work on making my weight loss a success as well!

    Can't take the credit for your kickstart, Wendy. You were ready! And that reminds me- workout 2 tomorrow. Text me when you are done! Mine will be after golf in the afternoon. Keep a notebook with your starting stats, don't weigh more than once a week- or every 2 weeks- and keep track as you go along. I have your back! We will do this together.

    Poppy puppy is my biggest helper for getting aerobic exercise done. Since my yard is not fenced, I have to walk her several times a day and what ever speed I go is not fast enough for her.

    I am glad your friend Sharon is helping you, good to have a push sometimes. At least the texts will make you think about exercise and just might get you moving.

    I do believe it is up to us though. Exercise needs to be fun something you like to do. I sure don't think you are lazy either with all you do.
    Silly thought, but maybe when you are working in the greenhouse, maybe do a little routine in there, dancing around the green house, use something in there as weights. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Good morning Wendy - I can relate ! Sometimes life gets in the way of our weight goals . Wendy you have never been lazy - look at the plants you grow !
    For me , I gained back 35 pounds - cause I walked away from the Spark Community that keep me accountable.
