Gratitude list on a tough day

I am grateful for:
A beautiful, sunny and cool summer day spent with my wife, both of us able to share it, to talk with and trust and appreciate one another. The gift of love received and love fully accepted, a comfortable home that is safe and free of violence, living in a state where I can marry the person I live, speak and share my opinion, practice the faith within me, and question government and authorities without fear or intimidation (sadly I know there are fellow citizens if other races who do not feel the same confidence).
Grateful that I have relatively easy access to excellent health care and a diverse range of services, to medicine when needed, and that my access is not determined by my income.
Grateful for eyes that see, ears that hear, the gift of touch and taste, the ability to speak and to comprehend, gifts of intelligence and creativity, the ability to take emotional risks and to trust in the love and goodness of others. The ability to move and to write, to draw, the ability to walk and carry out activities of daily living independently.
For these and many more gifts which I enjoy and too often take for granted, I am grateful.
