Juice fasting/cleanse days six, seven, and eight!

Monday, July 18, 2016

Ugh. My most of me hurts. I had my dedication tested a bit on Saturday, but not by much. I guess I was just surprised by my control.
A girlfriend and I went hiking Saturday, since I actually had the day off. Since she had something going on that evening, and I had plans to do some uber and start saving up for a trip to Disneyland, we picked a short, easy, beginner trail of Teneriffe Falls. six miles round trip, 1420 foot elevation gain. Unfortunately parking was limited and we had to park a mile away at the Mount Si trail head. Just for fun we looked up Mount Si on the wta website and found that the trip was 8 miles roundtrip. We figured hey, that's about as long as we would walk anyway with the walk to the trailhead and back, let's just do Mount Si instead. What we didn't take into consideration was that the elevation gain was more than double and we ended up trading an easy trail in for an expert trail. Yeah, not moderate or even hard. Expert. I'm still sore and I have to go back to work today. Yet in all of this, I still managed to continue my fast for the whole day. I did wish I brought more juice though. And man, the view! Well worth the effort, and I can't wait to go on more hikes in the future! As a matter of fact, a girlfriend of mine and I are talking about going wednesday. I picked an easier trail out in the olympic mountains. Hazel wants to go too so I want to start her off with something easy. This one is only a mile and a half. I'm sure that if I keep her going that by next year she'll be like the small kids I saw on mount si who only seemed to get more energy as they got closer to the top.
