Eat ONLY when truly hungry

I am going to try a new approach to losing weight because I can't seam to get past certain bench marks, and I fall back into old habits without thinking way to first. Well first, I need to really think about what I eat and what I do before I do it. But also I have decided to take this one step at a time, and conquer one obstical at a time.
I thought about what was hardest for me, and while there are a list of things one thing that I find is really hard for me is only eating when I am hungry. Now, this is hard for a few reasons. Sometimes with schedules getting off and time I often find that it's "time" for lunch but I'm not hungry. So I end up eating anyway because I don't know when the next time I'm going to be able to eat is, or I don't want to get eating at weird or random times so I just eat now, instead of later. This is a problem because your body knows when you should eat, and you need to listen to it.
Another reason this is hard is because I get hungry and don't have time to eat, or just haven't gotten anything to eat for whatever reason, and by the time you think about it you aren't hungry anymore. This is a problem because you are starving your body which is not healthy, and can make your body store fat!! And I know I don't want that.
So my first challenge for myself (and I hope you join me) is to eat when I'm hungry only! No matter if it's inconvenient or whatever the circumstances! I think this will help me with my next challenge: portion control!
